A New Level of Soft and Silky....

OMG guys!! Seriously, I love this new eyeshadow palette I got! I purchased it at Nordstrom Rack for only $16!! It's Smashbox's Heartbraker palette in Kiss n Tell. Okay, so the colors aren't something I can wear everyday but this is still my new favorite palette! I've never used anything from Smashbox so it was a surprise to me how much I absolutely love these! They are so fabulously soft and smooth, they feel so great on your skin! On top of all that amazing-ness they are super duper pigmented!! I don't know how much these were when they first came out but I got them for a great price so if you have a Nordstrom Rack go and look for them! I really like them. The colors are beautiful and they're great for fun and everyday looks. I LOVE THESE! More than anything I've used by any other brand, and I've used quite a few different kinds of eyeshadow. I'm definitely going to start buying Smashbox products now!!

Pigmentation To Da Max

My only Urban Decay palette is hands down one of my favorites. I loooooove it. The pigmentation of this palette is flippin' crazy!! I've done so many different looks with this palette I can't even believe nine colors could go so far!! I can't remember the name of the palette (sorry :/) but I would say just to pick up whatever palette you like best from Urban Decay. I've used it for Halloween makeup, everyday, and special occasions. I LOVE IT! The next palette I am uber excited to purchase is the Naked palette. I'm sure you've all heard of it or seen it because it is just so beautiful. I'll tell you how much I love it when I get. The picture is the palette I have...again I have completely forgotten what it's called but it is amazing. The colors do seem a little crazy but I think it's awesome for pretty much any kind of look.

Shadow Bases 'n' Stuff

Urban Decay's Primer Potion-5/5

My number one eyeshadow base will forever and always be Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I love it!! It makes your eyeshadows stay on forever and it makes them so bright and beautiful. That's actually the first eyeshadow base I had ever tried so I guess I'm a little bias but it's honestly the best base I have ever tried, though I haven't tried many. Go buy it right now!! I have only tried the original but I'm sure the other ones are just as fantastic.
 Urban Decay Primer Potion

Too Faced Shadow Insurance-3/5

The main reason I can't give this product a lower rate is because I honestly love this brand. Their eyeshadows are beautiful and everything by them is just so fantastic. Except their eyeshadow base. It's too gooey and it really doesn't do anything to make the colors look better. I don't personally think it held my eyeshadow for as long as Urban Decay's. It's okay, it definitely holds them longer than not using a base but I really just don't see the point if the colors don't stand out. If feels like it just blends into my skin and it doesn't actually do anything to benefit my eyeshadow. It definitely feels good on the lid which is a definite plus. As I said before, it definitely holds but it's just not the best product I've used. I don't think it's worth the price but it's okay, I guess. I would say for you to try it though, because some people love it and some people just don't like it very much.
 Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Sally Hansen's Fast Fix Eyeshadow Base-3.6/5

Like how I mixed up my rating there? Well anyway, I think this product is good, just not GREAT. I was surprised that a drugstore shadow base could hold the shadows as well as it did. I give it higher than Too Faced because it is very cheap. I don't know the exact price but it's somewhere between $6-$8, compared to Too Faced which is $19, I believe. My two main problems are that it's a bit thick and it's an odd color. It's kind of sticky when you put it on so you can't use that much or your shadow will just blend with the primer. Like I said, it's an odd color and with some shadows I feel like it might discolor them a bit. It does hold my shadow all day and it makes the colors pop and look great. I would say that if you want something cheaper with pretty good quality, buy this one. This is the only drugstore shadow base I've tried so I'll definitely get back to you guys on some better ones that could be awesome.

NYX?

I would give NYX single eyeshadows 4/5.

Pros-
great pigmentation
gorgeous shimmer
blends well
smooth
goes on easily
worth the money

Cons-
tons of fallout
messy

So, my first makeup review!!! I'm so excited!! Okay, so I thought I should try NYX cosmetics because I've only heard great things about it. I know, I am totally late on this craze but I'm also new on this makeup thing. I only have to colors and they're both single eyeshadows. I can tell you right now that I am in love!! I don't think they're the BEST eyeshadows I've ever had but I do like them. Considering they are a drugstore brand I think they are completely amazing. My main issue is that they are incredibly messy. Every time I swipe my brush in the shadow it just spreads all over the place. The colors are very pigmented and very soft. I only got two because it was my first time buying this brand. Both the of the colors I bought are "frosty" which I like a lot. They're not over sparkly but they do have quite a bit of shimmer. I'll have to try a couple matte ones to see if there is as much fallout but for now I definitely like them. One of the main reasons I wanted to try this brand is because I've heard a lot of people say that NYX is comparable to MAC. I'm not going to lie, I would not compare the two brands. In my opinion, MAC is still a little bit more opinion and a little less messy. I will definitely keep buying NYX products because I have definitely fallen in love.
The first color I got is Rust. LOVE IT....It is an absolutely gorgeous color and I would recommend you all go out and get this color.
The second color I got was Sensual. It looks brown but it's actually a very deep purple. Absolutely beautiful and looks great with tons of colors. LOVE!! GO BUY!!

The Recreation

This blog will no longer be silly and pointless. This will now be a fashion blog. I know, sill right? Well anyway, I'll be reviewing makeup, explaining new products, and do monthly favorites. I know this seems silly but if I don't have a point for this blog it will just stay here with no new posts. I haven't posted since February because I just have nothing that interesting to say about my life. I feel like everyone should have a blog about something they know a lot about. I wouldn't say I know a lot about makeup or fashion but I feel like I have a pretty valid opinion on a lot of things. So, I think I'll keep up my old posts because this did seem like a good idea when I made it. I keep up on my Peace Blog the most so please visit that. http://increasethepeaceplease.blogspot.com/. Also, I made a blog just to test some features. I have literally never used it so now I think I'm going to recreate that into another kind of review thing for other things like movies, books, and all that stuff. I'll keep updates on that and please, if you read this FOLLOW BOTH OF MY BLOGS. I really have no life so I feel like you should encourage my use of time and such. Maybe at some point I will be able to just combine all three of these blogs but at this point I feel like they're better as separate things.
Love Always,
Fabulous Killjoy. :D

In Mah Mathity Clissity Class

I've decided I love the stupid titles. It seems that again I have little reason to enjoy my time in math class. Aside from it being you know, MATH. I just don't see the point of learning math things I'll never use in real life. I know how to do my basic math and I know how to do it well. Of course, I will do what I have to because I like having good grades but I just dislike it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to pretend like I love it until I'm out of school for good. It is so not FABULOUS FUN. Well anyway...I don't have much to say. I never quite know what to post on this blog but I will come up with more. I don't put as much time into this blog as I do my other so if you want a little more go to http://increasethepeaceplease.blogspot.com/ . I love you all!!

New Year

Lame title right? I know...but I don't have anything original on my mind so I just went with it...Anyway, I, like most people are ready for a new year. I can't say that 2010 has been bad for me, it wasn't easy but I'm here, alive and well. I actually have a lot to be grateful for. My family is happy and together and I've met so many new and amazing people!! The biggest thing I am grateful for is that my grandmother made it through the year. She's 91 years old and she's had her ups and downs throughout the months but she was able to celebrate Christmas with us this year and for that I thank God everyday. We always ask my grandma what she wants for Christmas and every year she says she just wants the whole family to celebrate it with her. I wish I was as selfless and loving as her, maybe that will be one of my goals for 2011. My great-grandmother unfortunately died this year, may she rest in peace. She will always be remembered and I hope she is up there watching out for the rest of us. Enough about death!! This year...let's see...this year has been filled with firsts!! First year in high school, first...okay I lied. That was really the only first but it's been such fabulous fun!!
11 Goals for 2011-
1. Focus more on piano. Though I love the instrument, I really need to put more time into learning it.
2. Wear makeup everyday...why? I got a lot of makeup for Christmas...
3. Read at least 50 books. It seems I have been slacking lately in the book department.
4. Get all A's and B's in school. I've never gotten a C before in my life and I would hate to start in high school.
5. Make at least 2 new friends. I can always use an extra friend....
6. Control my addiction to Facebook....
7. Be a better person, but that's a lifetime goal.
8. Go to a state I haven't been to yet.
9. Only have to clean my room 3x this year. Oh dear...
10. Get rid of anything in my room I am not using. It's harder than it sounds...
11. Appreciate what I have and thank those who give it to me more often.

Music

On my other blog (http://increasethepeaceplease.blogspot.com/) I have recently posted a blog about music but it's all about PEACE music. So I thought I'd give my opinion on all the other music I love. I generally love EVERYTHING. My loves right now being My Chemical Romance, Brad Paisly, Plain White T's, Pink, Eminem, Maroon 5, Linkin Park, and Flyleaf Mostly because they've all recently come out with new CDs. Anyway, yea basically I love EVERY kind of music. Just thought I'd share that. ;)

Well...

Though I have no followers right now on this page I feel the need to keep it updated it with my fabulous life occurrences. Right now I don't have much to talk about. I can only say that I am lovin the book "Maximum Ride" by James Patterson. It's interesting, filled with crazy and wonderful ideas.  I have found that it is an incredibly easy read , but with semester finals reading is just not something I can occupy my time with right now. For the love of those twenty some people that have viewed my blog right now...follow!! My posts right now are basically my boredom on paper but they have no set plan. Not one is like the other...anyway. Love to all!!

Math vs. English

Just some thoughts while I'm sitting in math. Sitting in this class, working on a project makes me think how much I sincerely hate math, numbers, and all that goes with those little symbols of the devil. I love English, words and all that goes with them. You can't manipulate numbers the way you can words. There is always a correct answer with math, two plus two will always equal four. Words are different, you can move your words around to make people's mind see what you see. You can't create a fire-breathing dragon with numbers. One can try, with some crazy, ridiculous science and some theories but it would lose the magic. With words on the other hand, you can create a purple, fire-breathing dragon that can eat you in one bite but has the loving heart of pet. Though some people enjoy the fact that at some point, they will come up with the correct answer in a math problem, I am not a fan of that thought. With words, you can't end with the right answer because there is no one right answer. If you make people believe what you say, then you have successfully used words to the benefit of all that reads them. Bland topic, but one i felt the need to talk about.

I get by with a little help from my friends...

Friends truly are the siblings God forgot to give you. The really amazing ones are anyway. I have friends that have been with me through thick and thin, ones I can never thank enough for the support they've provided me with. I love them and, whoever blessed me with them I give an honest and sincere thanks.

Just Some Thoughts...

So, I have recently purchased and fallen in love with Plain White T's new album. Enough said really, it's absolutely fabulous. The song "Rhythm of Love" has stolen my heart and I have no room for any other songs, no matter how they try and win me over. I joke of course because there is always one song I can't stop listening to...until a new one comes along. For a while Darius Rucker's "Come Back Song" was on repeat. Then it was My Chemical Romance's "S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W". Yes, my music obsessions are random and I can't say i only listen to one specific genre of music. Truth is, I get far too bored way too easily to limit myself to only a certain group of artists. Art is art, and every kind should be recognized, loved, and praised. I take pride in the thought that I can find a song I love from pretty much any music artist. Well, the ones I've been exposed to so far. If anyone would like to broaden my musical horizon, it would be greatly appreciated.
